These days more than ever, respect for the environment and all environment-related corporate policies are seen as key factors in corporate communication. LIRI believes that the correct management of this subject is an index of a company’s development, and has therefore activated an Environmental Management System (EMS) for each step of the production process in compliance with the Environmental Management System Certification ISO14001:2004.
LIRI’s main objective is to use raw materials. The two thermal treatment facilities allow for the production of thermal power from waste coming from the soaking and pressing departments; this reduces both the use of natural resources like natural gas and the amount of waste to be disposed of. The thermal treatment facilities also feature measurement systems that keep emission standards and thresholds under control.
For the consideration of the environment LIRI also purchase paper from suppliers which comply with the FSC regulations. Furthermore, the decorative paper used does not contain heavy metals.
